The party spent five days in St. Peters- burg with Miss Lathrop’s aunt, Mrs. W. E. Gibson. Weather was ideal throughout the journey and many places of interest were visited en route. Stanley Jackson is seriously ill at his home in Beaumont. Warren Chamberlain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Chamberlain, is ex- pected home this weekend after spending eighteen months in the army, thirteen of them in the Pacific Theatre. Warren was honor- | ably discharged in California on No- vember 7 and spent a few days in Spokane, Washington, with his uncle before heading home. Mrs. Sherman Schooley of Shav- ertown submitted to an operation at General Hospital on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Edwards and children, Faith Elaine and Barry of Trucksville will attend the Navy- Penn State game at Annapolis on Saturday. Rev. and Mrs. Henry C. Senior Girl Scouts Make Plans For Bazaar Dallas Senior Girl Scout Troop will sponsor a bazaar in which they will feature hand made luncheon sets, stuffed animal toys and dozens of other articles suitable for holiday gifts the first week in December. Proceeds will be used to buy uni- forms and defray cost of summer camping. The troop which includes girls be- tween the ages of fourteen and seventeen has been meeting in the Dewees game room which has been set up as a work shop. There they have made fifteen garments for the needy of Wyoming Valley; have painted numerous bottles for ‘their bazaar; have hand embroidered bed jackets; have cut out and put to- gether whole circuses of stuffed ani- mals; and in addition have had a lot of fun. Auxiliary To Have House Cleaning Day Ladies’ Auxiliary of Trucksville Volunteer Fire Company met in the Fire Hall Monday evening. Mrs. Marvin Miller was welcomed as a new member. Mrs. John Kennan reported attendance of 300 at the Hallowe'en party, with a profit of $83.49. A committee reported purchase of new draperies and Venetian blinds for the Hall windows. Women of the community are in- vited to meet Wednesday, Novem- ber 19, at 10 A. M. to houseclean the Hall; each one to bring a cover- ed dish for lunch. The next meeting on December 8, will be a Christmas Party, and each member is asked to bring a 25c gift for exchange. Mrs. Cedric Griffith will have charge of refreshments, Mrs. W. J.
