Last year, Mrs. Ash said, there were 75,000 air cadets, soldiers, and sailors in Atlantic City, but .this year that number has dwindled to about 6,000. An especially interest- ing feature of the trip was a review given by 1,000 coast guardsmen on the boardwalk. Few people appeared to enjoy the swimming and beach this year be- cause the water was so cold that only the most hardy could stay in for long.
