James’ plea for a landslide and then rolled up a plurality; of 966 for him in Tuesday’s election. James received 22 votes in Kingston Township for every one vote Gifford Pinchot, his opponent for the Repub- lican gubernatorial nomination, re- ceived. It was one of the finest trib- utes given anywhere in the State to the Plymouth jurist. Although voters here gave strong support to Samuel Lewis, candidate for lieutenant-governor and staunch James supporter, they also turned in a’ majority for Senator James J. Davis, | candidate for re-election, and whose name had been associated with that of Pinchot. Willard G. Shortz led the race for Representative in the township, with Donald Wilkinson running second and Charles Hoyt of Jackson Township a close third. About 325 Democrats voted in Kings- ton Township. Thomas Kennedy led | for Governor, S. Davis Wilson for TU. S. Senator, Dr. Leo C. Mundy for lieu- tenant-governor and Harold Flannery for Congress. Attorney Edgar Lare showed his heels to Frederick Pritch- ard in the battle for the Representa- tive nomination. The heaviest vote was cast in the Trucksville district, where 523 Repub- licans and 146 Democrats voted. From 9:30 to 10:15 there will be a program of competitive events for Senior and Junior high school boys and girls. Students will report to their home room teachers at 10:30 and will march to their positions on the field fifteen minutes later to wait the May Day Procession. of the Junior girl fencers as the Royal Guard, the seventh grade girls, who will present a peasant dance and = jester dance, the eight grade girls, who will do the traditional May Pole dance and the Court of Honor in the Minuet.
