Mr. And Mrs. Wood Have Noted Caller Fred Pye, Distinguished Artist, Stops On Way To Maine Professor and Mrs. Ernest Wood of Dallas were pleasantly surprised last week when Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pye, the former an artist of international fame, on their way from their home in Cin- cinnati, Ohio, to the artist colony in Maine, stopped for a visit with them. Other guests in the party were Mrs. S. A. Jones and daughter, West Pittston. Mrs. Pye and Mrs. Jones are cousins of Mrs. Wood. Fred Pye drew International atten- tion at his exhibition in Paris in 1524 when the French Ministry des Beaux Arts acquired one of his pictures for the Musee de Luxembourg. He has done some excellent New England sea coast and woodland scenes. He is now concentrating on portrait work.
