Several newspapers offered large rewards and others placed their men at the command of authorities to print as little or as much news of the case as Colonel Lindbergh wanted. Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr. was born at the former home of his mother, who was Anne Morrow before her marriage, in Englewood, N. J., in June, 1930. ; Police had little to say concerning the case last night but they intimated they were determined to apprehend the bestial criminals and bring them to strict justice. J. Edgar Hoover, chief of the Bureau of Investigation, said: “It is quite possible that now the police may have definite clues as to the kidnappers.
