Joseph Hollen | business callers in| Recent Deaths Mrs. Sadie Meisel Mrs. Sadie Meisel, 84, wife of Vince Meisel of near Carrolltown, died at her home Saturday, Jan. 22, at 6 p. m., following a two- week illness. A daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Noel) Shar- baugh, she was born in East Carroll Twp. on Aug. 13, 1864. She is survived by her husband and one son, Cletus, of Carroll- town, Mrs. Meisel was a sister of Mrs. Catherine McConnell of Hol- lidaysburg and Gilbert Sharbaugh of McKeesport. Three grandchild- ren and three great-grandchildren also survive, A Requiem High Mass was sung Tuesday morning at 9 a. m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Patton, by Rev. Father Flavian Yelinko, pastor of St. Benedict's Church, Carrolltown, of which the deceased was a member. Burial was in St. Benedict's Cemetery. Peter Melnyk 'Colver—Peter Melnyk, 32, died at 8 p. m. on Sunday, Jan. 23 at his home here, after an illness of 12 years. He was born in New York on May 20, 1916 and was the son of Elias and Nancy (Mal- on) Melnyk, 707 7th St., Colver. His mother died in 1927 and surviving are his stepmother, the former Tessie Chruszczak, and the following brothers and sis- ters: Mrs. Mary Reese of Wins- ton-Salem, N. C.; George, Helen and Catherine of New York. Also 2 half-brothers, Steve and Mich- ael, at home. Funeral services were held in the Greek Catholic Church in Revloc by the Rev. Father Olek- sander Ulitsky, on Wednesday morning of this week, and burial was made in the Holy Name Catholic Cemetery in Ebensburg. ® Mrs. Tora ‘Thomas Mountaindaie, Pa,— Mrs. Tora Thomas, died on Thursday morn- ing, Jan. 2z, at 11:55 o'clock in the Philipsburg State Hospital. She was born on July 30, 1881. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Edmiston and Mrs. Mabel Fishel, both of Blandburg; a son, Boyd of Mountaindale, and a brother, John Stine of Glasgow. Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p. m. in the Blandburg Methodist Chu- rch by the Rev. J. A. Wagner. Interment was made in the Pleas- ant Hill Cemetery in Glasgow. Miss Mary D. Tronzo Spangler—Miss Mary D. Tronzo died in Spangler on Thursday, Jan. 20. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth) (Romett) Tronzo. Preston Hill, 23, Loses Life In Italy S/Sgt. Preston J. Hill, 23-year- old son of John and Della (Gard- ner) Hill of Colver, was reburied last Saturday afternoon in Colver, Sgt. Hill lost his life Mar. 2, 1945, in Italy while on his 41st mission with the 15th Army Air Force. He was a native of Col- ver and entered the service in 1942 and served a year in Alaska before returning to the states for additional reassignment. He held both the Air Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation. He is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Telford of Cambria Twp.; Mrs. Wilda Hildebrand of Ebens- burg; Glenn, with the U. S. Army in Omaha, Neb.; Mrs. Ruby Duffey of Baltimore, Md. and His brother, Eugene of Colver. Glenn, served as an escort for the remains from New York. Services were held last Satur- day afternoon in the Colver Pres- byterian Church and interment was made in the Lloyd Cemetery.
