Hunting licenses have been on gale at the courthouse and at establishments for some and with sales being up to normal and the opening day being on a Saturday, a record number of hunters is expected to be in the woods and fields the first day. Woodcock season already is in full swing, having opened Friday, and will continue until Oct. 24. Hunters are allowed to bag four woodcock and 10 doves a day with shooting hours from a half- hour before sunrise to sunset. The question of how many rab- bits and pheasants there are in the woods still is an unanswered one. However, state game author- ities say that the numbers of small game throughout the state this year are not as high as in former years. However, they pre- dict that hunting in Pennsylvania will be as good “as can be found anywhere on the continent.” “The Judgment Day” Theres a day of judgement com- ing When the Son of God shall say, “Gabriel, sound your mighty trumpet, For it is Judgment Day.” At the sounding of the trumpet, When this world shall be no more, Will your soul be ready, brother, Will you enter Heaven's door?
