    FORENSIC LEAGUE

nual Participation in
Events Discussed
At a well attended meeting of the

of Dr. M. S. Bentz, County -Super-
intendent of Schools, held in Dr.
Bentz's office at Ebensburg, Friday
afternoon, matters pertaining to high
school entrance requirements and the
Forsenic League contests were discus-
sed at length. In regard to the for-
mer, Dr. Bentz anounced that the de-
tails of a plan looking to the setting
up of a course of study would be sent
to the principals within the next few
ddys. There was also some discus-
sion at the meeting in regard to as-
suming some of the responsibility for
the care of needy persons throughout
the county. It was decided that the
school heads would aid to their fullest
extent in the distribution of such arti-

Bent's office will be the headquarters
for the receiving and distribution of
such articles.
The list of subpects to be used in

be sent out ot the various schools
within a short time and the list as
announced by Dr. Bentz includes de-
bate, extemporaneous speaking, ora-
tion and reading. The subject of de-
bate is “Resolved, That the State As-

up in Washington, residents of the bor-
ough are confident that the free-deliv-
ery system will be installed at Nanty- (
Glo before the close of the coming |
year.
Among the requirements of a town |
to be granted free mail delivery by
the postoffice department are that the |
receipts of the local postoffice be a
least $5,000 per year, that there be |
continuous sidewalks in the districts |
served, whinch must include a popula-
tion of 1,500 or more; that all streets |
must be marked with names of streets |
at intersections and that, before the |
service is establishel, all houses be |
numbered and provided with suitable |
mail boxes. Nanty-Glo is now in posi- |
tion to meet all these demands, it is
claimed.
