The cases upon the current calendar of the Common Pleas Court, In' which the County of Jefferson was the plain tiff and the Board of County Commis sioners the defendants, growing out of surcharges made by the board of aud itors at their sitting the first of the year, were settled yesterday. The aud itors withdrew from their position on surcharges amounting to 1142 30; the surcharge of J7.00 on order overpaid N. D. Corey, Esq., was permitted to stand, Mr. Corey returning this amount to the commissioners; the surcharge of $54. 75, supplies for County Superintendent's office, will be disposed of througn a mandamus case brought in the argu ment court by the County Superintend ent to compel the Commissioners to furnish stationery, etc.; and the mat ter of fees paid County Surveyor G.mr ley, amounting to J28.60, will probably alno be adjusted in the same court.
