Hugh Hall, a well known l astdont of this place, was killed by being run over by a train on the B., R. & P. between thia and Stanley on Friday afternoon about two o'clock. Mr. Hall wbb on bis way to Stanley to transact tmo busi ness and then intended to take the three o'clock train for DuBois. He was walking on the north bound track and stopped oyer onto the soi th bound track to let a train pass and i i doing so stepped In front of a train go 'ig in the opposite direction, which 1 e did not notice. His body was taken to DuBois for burial. Mr. Hall Is surv ved by bis wife, one daughter and one son, who lives In DuBois, and one son In one of the western states. Mr. Hal! was about sixty-one years old at the t me of his death. G. W. Walker and O. G. Mansfield had a fishing job last week, not one of those little insignificant trout fishing jobs, but ono that meant business from the word go. In attempting to remove a pump from a well the pipe slipped through tho clamps and dropped to the bottom. The well was one hundred feet deep and to fish four lengths of pipe out of a six Inch hole was quite an undertaking, but after working for some time they succeeded in placing chains over the end of the pipe and finally succeeded in bringing it to tho top. Mrs. Georgo W. McGee died at her homo on Tuesday aftornoon, March 28, at 12.15 of cancer. She had been sick during the entire winter, but was con fined to her bed about two months. She was buried In the Sykesville cemetery on Thursday. Rev. D. J. Frum con ducted the funeral services. Mrs. Mc Gee is survived by her husband and five children. On Saturday morning as J. H. Loghry attempted to descend the stairs at his home he lost his footing and fell the entire length of the stairs, sustain ing a brokon limb. The fracture was reduced by Dr. G. B. Henneigh, of Troutvllle, and Mr. Loghry is doing as well as can be expected considering his advanced age. He will be eighty-three years of age next May. Misses Mae Hairo, Orrel Philllppl, Clara Lyle and Mr. George Null at tended the examination, for common school diplomas, at Punxsutawney on Saturday. We wish them success. They were accompanied by Prof. Gelst, Mr. Newton Rupert and Misses Alda Stahl and Zola Mansfield. Harold Scott, of Garee, Pa., spent part of last week visiting with friends in town.
