A Mother Done
Mrs. Henry Mowrey died at her home
near Emerlckvllle on Thursday, October
21), 1(H)3, agod 45 years. Funeral services
were held at the Emerlckvllle Motho
dist Episcopal church the following
Sundny, conducted by Hov. W. H.
Garnett. Interment in the family plot
In the Moore cemetery. The floral
offerings and the many friends at the
funeral Indicated the sincere sorrow of
friends and acquaintances. Mrs. Mow
rey's health for the last year was poor
and for some months a more rapid de
cline was noticed, and reports from her
bedside the past few weeks had been
very discouraging. Her death, though
not altogether unexpected, was a great
shock to her family and numerous
friends. Oh it Is sad, indeed, when
death summons an aged mother from a
home, but oh, how sad, when a mother
at the age of 45 yeais Is taken from
amidst her young family. Words can
not express the sympathy which all
feel for this grlef-stleken family whom
God has seen fit thus to afflict, and only
His great wisdom is an answer to the
query, "Why is it so?"
Mrs. Mowery was loved by all who
knew her She was' a mother that was
ever found In her homo. From early
womanhood she was a member of the
M. E. church. She is survived by her
husband and seven children, six sons
and one daughter, Mrs. Jennie Hockey,
of Russell. I'a., being the only daugh
ter, also three brothers and four sisters
inouru for a loving sister. Mrs. Mow
rey's last words were words of prayer
and a sweet message to her loved ones :
"Weep not for me, I am resting, sweet
ly resting, dear Lord in thee."

Millionaires' Poor Stomach.
The worn-out stomach of the over-fed
millionaire is often paraded In the pub
Mo prints as a horrible example of the
evils attendant on the possession of
great wealth. But millionaires are not
the only ones who are afflicted with bad
stomachs. The proportion Is far great
er among the tollers. Dyspepsia and
Indigestion are rampant among these
people, and thoy Buffer fur worso tor
tures than the millionaire unless they
avail themselves of a standard medicine
like Green's August Flower, which has
been a favorite household ruinedy for
all stomach troubles for over thirty
Ove years. August Flower rouses the

The thciiti'Icul organization which

the excellence of Its dramatic vehicle

Its audienee. In this respect "A Foxy

of Charles Cm-Icy and H. Stanley Lewis,
shines pre-emlnoiilly. One scene alone

dishevelled dispatchers and grimy truln
bands pass In kaleidoscopic review and
red and green switch lights twinkle

the audience, stops, and backs up, the
blue-clad engineer loaning from his

coal into the glowing firebox. The
New York Subway at midnight ; the
underground den of Red Leary's gang
of counterfeiters ; and a safe-blowing
scone wherein the vllllan and bis co

reformed burglar drill and "blow" a
huge steel bank vault, are among the
other special features. "A Foxy

Cut It Out Boys.
One day last week two bright looking
boys passed the oflloe, and we were Im
pressed with their fine appearanoe.
They were courteous when spoken to,
and readily gave their age as thirteen,
but the good Impression was somewhat
marred when we noticed that each one
was smoking a clgaret. ' If the boys
but knew the lasting Injury thoy do
themselves they would not take the
chances. We wonder who sold the
boys the poison. Freeport Journal.
How many homes aie shadowed in
sorrow because of the brutal carelessness
and criminal Infidelity of the husband ?
And knowing these things to be true, is
it any wonder that so many wives bear
upon their features the stamp of misery
and that the canker at their heart
oauses them to pine away and seek ob
