Funeral services were held at the Emerlckvllle Motho dist Episcopal church the following Sundny, conducted by Hov. W. H. Garnett. Interment in the family plot In the Moore cemetery. The floral offerings and the many friends at the funeral Indicated the sincere sorrow of friends and acquaintances. Mrs. Mow rey's health for the last year was poor and for some months a more rapid de cline was noticed, and reports from her bedside the past few weeks had been very discouraging. Her death, though not altogether unexpected, was a great shock to her family and numerous friends. Oh it Is sad, indeed, when death summons an aged mother from a home, but oh, how sad, when a mother at the age of 45 yeais Is taken from amidst her young family. Words can not express the sympathy which all feel for this grlef-stleken family whom God has seen fit thus to afflict, and only His great wisdom is an answer to the query, "Why is it so?" Mrs. Mowery was loved by all who knew her She was' a mother that was ever found In her homo. From early womanhood she was a member of the M. E. church. She is survived by her husband and seven children, six sons and one daughter, Mrs. Jennie Hockey, of Russell. I'a., being the only daugh ter, also three brothers and four sisters inouru for a loving sister. Mrs. Mow rey's last words were words of prayer and a sweet message to her loved ones : "Weep not for me, I am resting, sweet ly resting, dear Lord in thee." A Friend. De Young, Ta., Nov. 4, 1903. One day last week two bright looking boys passed the oflloe, and we were Im pressed with their fine appearanoe. They were courteous when spoken to, and readily gave their age as thirteen, but the good Impression was somewhat marred when we noticed that each one was smoking a clgaret.
