Again a critic has cried out against what lie calls a newspaper's too vivid account of a recent prize fight, to which the Hartford Courant wisely replies ; "A newspaper Is a daily publication that gives the news. It does not print what certain people wish to have happen. It does not make the news, but publishes It." IN every household there is an ao- cumulation of articles, not worthless but useless to the family owning them. Gas does away with the range nnd lamp; painted floors are in favor and carpets are laid aside. Briok, pipe, tile, old iron, wagon wheels tools and sundry other artioles form the contents of many a barn. Some one is wanting one of these articles, The purpose of the "want" and "for sale" columns is to reduce these ac cumulations, and there is no better medium for that purpose than the HERALD.
