Prof. Coles' predictions last month "that the planets were all on one side of the heavens and in position to cause awful storms and blizzards, snow blockades and Hoods, that would surprise the oldest inhabitants. came true. He says he has received hundreds of complimentary news paper notices from all parts of the country declaring them to be the most remarkable and accurate long range forecasts ever made by any one man or weather bureau in this or any other country. This month, says the forecaster, the planets are in a still more dangerous position than they were last mouth ; but fortunately for America the Higli Flood vital forces will rule by a two thirds majority and will keep away many of the greatest storms and send them around to the antipodes. The "Like Diamonds Raindrops Glisten." Drops of Hood's Sarsapa tilla are precious jewels for the blood which glisten in their use, and, like the rain, disappear for the good of humanity. Each dose when taken is in a very short time thoroughly mixed with the Blood and actively getting in its work of purification. Hood's never disappoints. Milk Leg-" When iny last child was born In Lockport, N. Y., In 1874, I became afflicted with njllk leg In terrible form. Our family physician was faithful but could only relieve temporarily. Keeping boarders, I was on my feet a great deal. Finally the dye In gome red stockings poisoned my In flamed ankles, making many sores. I was In continual misery, gangrene setting In five times. The bones were visible, finger and toe nails came off and my hair came out. I could not sleep without opiates. I dreaded death, but dreaded life all the more. I suffered until the spring of 1892 when our druggist suggested that I try Hood's Sarsa parllla as a last resort. The discharges .gradually healed, new flesh formed, new nails and hair grew, until after taking twenty bottles I was completely cured and I naturally bless the medicine. March, in tho main, will prove a very mild month. The greatest storm danger periods, according to the same prophet, will be between the 3d and 7th, the 9th and 17th, and the 10th aud 31st. If a break should occur in the gaseous matter now passing over the sun at any time during these periods, then America will be in danger of being storm swept and great Hoods will do untold damage. A tidal wave may innundate some of the islands of the sea, and result in great dnmuge to shippingalongthe sea coasts. Earth quakes and airquakes will appear in both countries and hurricanes- and pbenom'iual electrical storms will do much damage. Some of the states will be surprised by a March blizzard and great snow storms, while others are enjoying springlike weather. Thunder storms, followed by strange appearing phenomena in the north, may cause many to wonder and fear. Another comet will be sighted by the big telescope this month. Watch for sudden changes in the stock market, as an excess of "High Flood" days brings exciting scenes in the business, political and social world, is the parting warning of Prof. Coles. Thk "Philadelphia Inquirer says that "at the risk of his own life Chief Deischer, of the Shenandoah Fire Department, rushed into a burning building during Tuesday's conflagra tion and rescued from an agonizing death the young daughter of one of the victims of the fire." Our con temporary uses this as an argument that this is not a degenerate age. The laughable part of the whole matter is that there is no such person in this town as "Chief Deischer" and neither did the "chief take his life in his own hands to save a child." That story originated in the fertile brain of a representative of a Hazleton paper. Xo such "act of heroism" occurred in Shenandoah. Still In the King. From Hazleton Scntine!. The Shenandoah Evenjno Herald asks what has become of Hazleton's new county boomers, states that lis bill has been intro duced and that even tho Quay County Qlee Club has gone into winter quarters. The kidneys are responsible for more sick ness, suffering, and deaths than any other organs of the body. A majority of the ills afflicting people to day is traceable to kidney trouble. It prevades all classes of society, iu all climates, regard less of age, sex or condition. The symptoms of kidney trouble arc unmis takable, such as rheumatism, neuralgia, sleep lessness, pain or dull ache in the back, a desire to urinate often day or night, profuse or scanty supply. Uric acid, or brick-dust deposit in urine are signs of clogged kidneys, causing poisoned and germ-filled blood. Sometimes the heart acts badly, and tube casts (wasting of (lie kidneys) are found in the urine, which if neglected will result in Bright's Disease, the most dangerous form of kidney trouble. All these symptoms an'd conditions' are promptly removed under the influence of Dr. Kilmer's Swamp-Root. It bat a world wide reputation for its wonderful cures of the most distressing cases. The news ol confirmation by the senate of George Dewey as admiral of the navy and ot Elwell S. Otis as major general by bre vet in the regular army was promptly cabled to those two otllcials at Manila yesterday, with the congratulations ot the president and Secretaries Long and Alger. The special act making Dewey ad miral of tho navy Increases his emolu ments from $8,000 to $13,000 per an num. It Is said thnt he will outrank any olllcer In the United States nrmy, the fact being that the rear admirals, of whom there will be J8, will rank with the major generals, who are the highest officers nt present in the nrmy. While this fact would curry with it the out ranking of General Otis by Dewey, it Is not likely to interfere in the least with the status nt Manila, General Otis' duties as military governor having been specially prescribec by the president. Ah the naval nominations were sent In yesterday they were based on the standing of the omVers in the old regis ter, and no account was taken of tho effeot of uetlon or non-dction on the part of the senate on the many naval nomi nations then pending heforo that body, Thus in the list of rear admirals, sub. mltted, 18 In number, Schley stands two numbers in advance of Sampson.
