The Republican convention will be held on Juno 2, and it is prob able the Democrats will select the latter part of that month. TheDem ocrats at the present time are prac tically a unit throughout the state. They are preparing to make a vigor ous contest for the victory in the gubernatorial battle and an active and earnest light all along the line. The financial rock which led to the split in the party has sunk from sight and where there were two factious is flow a united Democracy. There is no doubt thut William A. Stone, of Alleghony county, whose principal mipporters are the Quay leaders, will remain in tho field and fight it out in the convention. Should Wanamaker decline, his supporters, including thoee opposed to the leadership of Senator Quay, will probably turn to Congressman Charles W. Stone, of Warren county, as their candidate. The latter has held himself aloof from faction fights, and has main tained friendly relations with all tho leaders of tho party. IN a recent address Hon. Carroll D. Wright, United States Commissioner of Labor, put into brief compass two or three truths bearing upon the wide-spread unrest, prevalent especi ally in tho industrial world of the present time, thatare worthy of being carefully considered. Instead of being alarmed ut this unrest and filled with forebodings on account ol it, as many are, in his view there is ample reason for an encouraging, distinctively hopeful outlook. In a word or two he gave the ground of his faith. He suid : "Out of all this agitation and discussion is growing a new political economy. It is produc ing the coordinate man, who recog nizes and claims his rights and privi leges. The demand of worklugiuen to-day is not for wages that will barel keep tho workers soul and body together, but for wages that will give him the things he has been taught to expect. The margin bus already been raised from ten to fifteen per cent. Labor troubles ure not pro duced through ignorance, but through intelligence, and the Intelligence which leads the worklngman Into labor disturbances is one whloh leads to a higher intelligence that will ulti mately prevent these conflicts. This successful remedy is not one of the many internal medicines ad vertised to do unreasonable tilings, but a scientifically prepared liniment especially effective in adding strength and elasticity to those parts of woman's organism which bear the severest strains of childbirth. The liniment may be used at any and all times during pregnancy up to the very hour of confinement. The earlier it is begun, and the longer used, the more perfect will be the result, but it has been used during the last mouth only with great benefit and success.
