These Include a number In Alaska, significant at this time in view of the Klondike ex citement. Following is a summary of nctlon taken relating to places conspicuously mentioned in the gold stories: As to Klondike, the decision Is to spell it as here given. One of the lakes of the Upper Yukon was named Le bargo by the Western Union Telegraph expedition in 18CS after Mlko Lebarge, a member of the exploring party, who is now living somewhere near Ottawa, Canada. Late publications have fallen into the error of spelling tills Labarge. There Is a Lebarge river In Alaska, When Bchwatka descended the Yu kon In 18S3 he named ono of the lakes on its head waters Ltndeman, after Dr. Morltz Llndemnn, now vice president of the Bremen Geographical society. This some times appears erroneously as Llndemann and Llnderman. One of the principal tributaries of the upper Yukon is tho Lewes river, named by Mr. Robert Campbell, of the Hudson Bay company, about 1848. This is often miscalled Lewis. The inlet, river and village at the head of Lynn canal, which now appears In the newspapers almost dally under tho form Dyea, the starting point for the overland route, Is an Indian word, which has appeared In many forms. The board adopts the form Talya. For the lake and river variously called Hootalinqua, Hotallnga, Teslin Hlna. Teslln-Too and Teslln, the board adopts Teslln, The termination Ulna and Too are said to mean river In dif ferent Indian dialects. An Indian village on the middle Yukon is called Nuklukayet. This has been written in several forms, Including the erroneous one Tuklukyet. Alloscd Diamond Tlitof Arrostod. Havre, Oct. 11. Last Sunday the Philadelphia Press printed reports from 46 of the 07 coun ties of this state relative to the condi tion of industry. In response to in quiries 102 reports from as many dif ferent places were received. Comment ing on this happy omen of good times The Press says: "That there Is a good time coming wo have confidently believed since last No vember. Has It arrived? These 102 re ports tell us that all over the state of Pennsylvania, except In those un happy regions where ill timed Btrlkes delay the awaiting revival of Industry, mills are starting up everywhere, orders are coming in and labor Is finding em ployment. Prices have not advanced in every case and nowhere Is there a fev erish boom, sure to be followed by re action. The advance Is natural, healthy, widespread, and, while profits would be greater if prices ruled higher, that which Is made counts for more and does not Invite and stimulate the com petition of foreign Importations, "The present Is assuring and the promise Is muoh greater. In the opinion of many competent Judges this state Is on the threshold of the greatest pros perity In its history. Prom town after town and county after county oome the same encouraging responses. It Is not only mills and mines that show Increas ed activity, but this aotivlty and pros perity Is shared by all related indus tries. The merchant sells more goods, the farmer finds a better market for his products, the railroads find their freight traffic greatly increasing and In their turn are led to expenditures which give new employment to labor. "Ab to the cause of this revival, It la not necessary, perhaps, to Inquire too curiously. A year ago Republicans prophesied that the election of MoKIn ley, the defeat of the cheap money craze and the settlement of the tariff question would be followed by a re vival of trade and business, and the ad vent of better times. That prophecy has been fulfilled, The whole country re joices In Improved conditions and Penn sylvania knows that a large measure of It has come to her." It Was a Winner.
