Yetkois Comlcted, William Yetkois, of town, was convicted at the Pottsvillo court on Saturday on a charge of assault and battery with intent to raviih, on oath of Mary Williams. Tho woman camo to this country but a short timo ago to meet her husband, who was supposed to livo in tho neighborhood of town. While in search of her husband Mary, who is a Polish woman, met Yetkois, who voluntccicd to go with her to where her husband was stopping. She was overjoyed at tho prospect of meeting her husband, from whom sho had been seperated for years and gladly accepted tho defendant's otter. Subsequent events show that ho had other motives in view. Instead of taking her to her husband ho led her into tho woods, whero ho attempted to tako advautago of her. Judge Sntldge's Sharp Talk. Two Poles named Joseph Martin and Adam Sopotski, convicted of assault aud battery witli intent to kill, mado a plea for mercy at the Pottsvillo court on Saturday. Judge Savidgo stated with much emphasis that foreigners aro becoming a curso to the courts and county. They wero too ready to bring suits when there was no foundation in fact fur such a course. They never wantod to pay any costs, preferring to go to jail and bo come a burden to tho county. I havo neither time or patience to waste on such trash. Tho defendants wero then seutonced to each ray tho costs, $30 fine and stand committed until the sentence was complied with. Neither, howover, had any money and they went to jail. Attempted Murder, Great excitement prevailed at Audeuricd last evculug, when it became known that an attempt had been made by three Italians to murder tho Itecse brothers, who conduct a livery stable at that place.
