CAUGHT AT LAST.
Hurry Yiirowskl Charged With I'rniiiluleiit
Mall Practices.
Harry Yarowskl, of West Ccntro street,
was arrested yesterday morning by Constable
homas Holln on a wnrrant issued by tho
United Slates Circuit Court at Philadelphia.
Yarowskl is confined in tho lockup, ponding
tho arrival of a United States Marshal from
'Jiiladelphia.
Tho warrant upon which tho arrest was
made was issued several weeks ago; it calls for
tho arrest of several men besides tho 0110 now
in custody. When the warrant was issued 11
United States Marshal and a Postotllco In
spector enme here to execute it and 0110 night
a raid was mado on tho Yarowskl residence
but the birds had. llown and tho olllcers left
tho town. About two weeks ago tho Post
Office Inspector returned and placed the war
rant in tho hands of Constable llolin. ester-
day Harry Yarowskl called at Holin's house
and asked the Constable If lie know whether
or not tho cako had been dropped, llolin an
swered by putting tho man under arrest.
Harry larowskl did not know that tho war
rant was in liolin's hands, or that it called
for his own arrest, and ho was ery much
crest fallen when tho true state of allalrs
dawned upon him.
Tlio warrant does not set forth the smi-luc
charge, hut it is alleged that Yarowski and
others havo been engaging in an oxtensive
scheme to defraud merchants of distant
cities through tho mails. It Is charged that
they ordered largo quantities of goods of
various kinds shipped to Mahanoy City, Mah
anoy Piano and other points. Tho gooils were
ordered shipped under falso names
and after lieing received were brought
to this town and taken to other
places in wagons and pcddlod. Trace
of tho goods were lost at tho places to which
they wero shipped, but a Postofllce Inspector
who spent three or four weeks in this town
and Mahanoy City gleaned enough evidence
to convince him that Harry Yarowskl and
others whoso names aro withheld fur the
present wero tho men who ordered the goods
aud carted them away.
