The Supremo Court handed down an opin ion declaring valid n five-year contract made by City Councils. The opinion is tho result of an appeal taken from the courts of Berks and Delaware counties. Both In the cities of Chester and Heading flvc-ycar contracts for street lighting wero entered into between Councils and certain electric lightcompanlcs. In Beading tho City Controller refused to approvo tho contract, or approvo warrants for tho payment of lighting bills- and the matter was taken Into court, Judge Ernicn trout deciding no contract for a longer term tiian one year could bo cutored into by tho City Council. Tho Metropolitan Electric Light Company took an appeal to tho Supreme Court, which now declares tho contract valid. McClure, who in previous seasons was the proprietor of the Palaco Hotel in tho Catskills, a summer hotel provided with all tho facilites with which a modern hotel is equipped. The Palaco ac comodated 150 boarders aud rates were from $15 to $18 a week.
