Carmel searching for evidence of tho death of Wesley IJodino, alsp of Danville, whom Mr. Cook claims was last seen in June, 18S."i. ISodine was survived by a wifo and seven children. If tho widow can provo that her husband is dead she and her children will bo entitled to a pension. It seems that IJodino was work ing in Shenandoah nt tho timo mentioned and was engaged as bricklayer. Ho left this town on a Saturday evening for Ashland, Rumors that ho bad been killed readied tho oars of his wife but sho could get no positive proof of it. Five years ago Mr. Cook started intotraco tho matter up. Ho has been in this town various times during that period ho having heard that Ilodlno was murdered on tho Riugtowu mountain, near Shenandoah. A few days ago ho met a butcher named Charles Campbell, who was in 1SS3 employed u Mt. Carmel, and who" stated that ho re membered of a man by tho namo of liodinc dying on a Sunday morning near tho Lehigh Valley depot, Mt. Carmel, from injuries re ceived, it is supposed, from highwaymen. Campbell further said that it was generally known in Mt. Carmel at that time that it was Rodino. So far there is no positive proof of tho death of Ilodino. Three Had Hoys. arning is given against tbrco boys, ono about 10 years of ago and tho others about years. They havo been in tho habit of frequenting a Main street restaunmt and, al though poorly dressed, displayed an abun danco of money. Last night tho oldest of tho boys took a $3 bill from a largo roll and asked for change. The proprietor-went next door to get it and on his return found tho boy trying to open tho cash drawer, which was secured by a combination lock. I ho boy had already filled his pockets with cigars from a box behind tho counter. Ho paid for them to escape arrest. The names of tho boys aro not known. It is believed they nro conducting a system of robbery.
