An employe of one of the electric railway lines soems to havo got himself into a serious dlfliculty through rossiping about another cmployo of the road and connecting tho name of a young lady who is tho daughter of a very prominent man of one of the places adjacent to tills town. The story, like all others of its eharactcr, bpread rapidly and reached the ears of tho young lady's father, who at ouoo commenced sifting the story, but has failed to confirm it to his satisfaction. Tho story was that tho young lady and tho party witli whom her namo is conuested visited Shenandoah ono night a week ago and were guests at one of the hotels. The investigation has shown that tho young man did visit town and was a guest at one of tho hotels, and ho registered under his proper name, but at no timo during that day or night was there a female guest at the hotel. It is also shown by the investigation that tho young lady was a guest of friends in town, aid it is claimed that the visit of both the parties on tho samo night was merely a coin cident. Tho father of the young lady says he does not wish to go into court with the mattor, but he intends to push it to a stage, with as littio publicity as possible, that will servo as a warning to somo that tho char acters of peoplo cannot bo juggled with im punity.
