The Wilson bill rates were reduced in the senate. Yester day representatives of the pottery manu facturers of Aow Jersey and one from Ohio and a largo delegation of pottery workors met with Senator Smith, and the result of tho discussion was an agreement by which the potters went back to work this morning at a reduction of 124 per cent, from tho scale paid before Jan. 1. The agreement does not touch what is called sanitary pottery. Senator Smith does not admit that lie offered to make an effort to secure an increase of duty on pottery as an Inducement to the manu facturers to agree to the scale fixed, but the manufacturers undoubtedly hope for nn Increase from tho tarilt conference.
