Shenandoah who helps populate Fort Carter,
is said to be an exemplary prisoner. Ho hta
concluded to reform and says that when ro
leased ho. will not return to Shenandoah

apply for a pardon and if they are successful
Slattery will be released next Juno.

Hicliard Warren is another Shenandoah
man in the jail who hopes for cHmency. He
was scnteiucd about two years ago on a
charge of having attempted a rape on a little
girl, but always stoutly affirmed his inno.

OBITUARY.
William I'. lrf Html suddenly yesterday
Alt. moon.
Much surprise was occasioned yesterday by
the announcement of the death of Wlllism
P. Graf. Ho had been ill for some lime, but
no one suspected that the fatal moment wss
at hand. Graf resided with his mother, Mrs.
C. W. Graf, on North Jardin street.
Ha returned from Philadelphia shorily
before Christmas to recuperate from
the eflects of a disease from which he had
suffered for about eight years. At 10 o'cloek
yeatcrrtay morning his mother fouud him in
a convulsion on the floor of his bedroom. Dr.
M. S. Klstler was called and worked faith
fully over tho patient for several hours, but
without success. Death ensued at about 3
o'clock In tho afternoon. Tho deceased was
23 years of age and was a well known and
very popular young man. Tho funeral Villi
take place on Thursday, 25th inst., at 2 n. in,
from the rssidenco of tho mother, 120 North
Jardin street. Services will be hold at the
houso and Interment will bo niacin in the Odd
Fellows' cemetery.
