The men were employes of Dingoe s brick works and met ut the boarding house of Robert Washington. Buck was sitting on the front steps when Boycr approached him from behind and dealt him a kick in the back of the neck that threw him into tho gutter. Buck recovered himself quickly and smiled in the direction ot his assailant, whan the latter drew a revolver and fired at him. The bullet struck Buck over the right lung, where It found lodgment.
