He met his wife at Sixth nnd Dudley. and after culling her n number of vile names struck her a fearful blow on the face, knocking her over a pile of cobble stones which were lying near the curb. He followed up this act by repeatedly kicking the woman until several men Interfered. Bickerton wns then arrested and on the following morning committed to prison to await trial. His s-dly abused wife de clined to prosecute him and the case was dropped. Mrs. Bickerton went to her mother s house, whire she lived until her death occurred yesterday.
