The little attacks of stomach trouble and stomach disorders will undoubledly lead to chronic dyspepsia unless you take something for a sufficient time to strengthen the stomach and give it a chance to get well. If you take Kodol in the beginning, the bad attacks of Dyspepsia will be avoided, but if you allow these little attacks to go unheed- ed it will take Kodol a longer time to put your stomach in good condition again. But that spiritless, no ambition feeling can be easily and quickly altered by taking what is known by druggists everywhere as Dr. Shoop’s Restorative. Within 48 hours after-beginning to use the Restorative, improvement will be noticed. Of course, full health will not immediately return. The gain, how- ever, will surely follow. And best of all, you will “realize and feel your strength and ambition as it is return- ing. Outeide influences depress first the “inside nerves” then the stomach, Heart, and Kidneys will usually fail. Strengthen these failing nerves with Dr. Shoop’s Restorative and see how quickly health will be yours again. Sold by all dealers. 9-1 One of our exchanges tells of an old German who had a boy of whom he was very proud, and decided to find out the trend of his mind. He adopted a novel method by which to test him. He slipped into the boy’s room one morn- ing and placed on his table a bottle of whisky.a bible and a silver dollar. “Now,” said he, “when dot boy comes in, if he takes dot dollar he’s going to |. be a beeznis man ; if he takes dot bible, he’s going to be a preacher; if he takes dot whisky he’s no good, and going to be a drunkard.” Then he hid behind a door to see which his son would choose. In came the boy, whistling. He ran up to the table, picked up the bible and put it under his arm, then snatched up the bottle, took two or three drinks, picked up the dollar and put it in his pocket, and went out smacking his lips. The Dutchman poked his head out from behind the door and exclaimed: “Mein Got! he is going to be a boli- tician.” The footprints of Dyspepsia have been directly traced to the Stomach nerves. When these “inside nerves” fail, indigestion and stomach distress must surely result. For this, drug- gists everywhere are supplying a pre- scription known as Dr. Shoop’s Re- storative. First, these tiny inside Stomach, Heart, and Kidney nerves fail. Then gas, belching, Heart palpi- tation, or failing Kidneys follow. Don’t drug the Stomach, or stimulate the Heart or Kidneys. That is wrong. Strengthen these failing nerves with Dr. Shoop’s Restorative. It is the nerves, not the organs that are calling for help. Within 48 hours after start- ing the Restorative, you will reslize the gain. A test will tell. Sold by all dealers. 9-1 ‘Whenever-thie price of meat is ad- vanced there is a corresponding sigh from the housekeeper who has the family purse in charge. If wise, she will cast about for ways to cook the cheaper cuts and those parts of the an- imals which often find the scrap-barrel for their resting-place. How seldom, excepting on the English table, will one find kidneys or hearts, andes yet when properl; cooked, these parts make a delicious addition to the menu. and will also lower the meat bill con- siderably. Many people object to eat- in. hese organs, but, like many other things, they need to have their prej- ud ces swept away by careful and at- tractive cooking and serving. Besides the kidneys and hearts there are the tongues of the lamb and veal, to say nothing of beef and pig, all of which in many localities, especially in the vil- lages, can be purchased for a small sum, and in some instances can be had for just the asking.—The Ladies’ World for September. - Robbery at Kantner. Prof. J. M. Berkey, formerly super- intendent of the Somerset county pub- lic ~chools, now a Pittsburg educator, spent Saturday in Johnstown as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Ott, of the Seventh ward. He was on his way home from Somerset and Stoyestown, where he had been for a few weeks. Last Thursday night burglars broke into the station at Kantner, near Stoyestown, and among other articles stolen was Mr. Berkey’s suit case, con- taining a gold watch, a suit of clothes and other things. His loss was about $75. Seven Rabbits Cost $13.04 Per. Joe Pascho, a Windber foreigner em- ployed at mine No. 38 of the Berwind- White Company, received a salty sen- tence when he faced Justice Colborn, last week, on charges of killing rabbits out of season and hunting without the necessary license required of all for- eigners unnaturalized. Pascho was arrested after some difficulty, by Of- ficer McMullen, with but one solitary rabbit in his possession, but after his arrest it developed that he had been in the habit of making numerous hunting trips recently, and it was proven to the satisfaction of the justice that he had killed at least seven rabbits within the last few days. A fine of $10 and costs for each rabbit was levied against the fellow, which, with a fine for hunting without a license, brought the’ total bill in the neighborhood of $95. Pascho will serve 95 days in the Somerset county jail unless the money is paid.
