The renter usually finds that his rent is too high, or he is dissatis- fied for some reason, and is restless, and discontentment stalks before him. He wants to move. He does not take the same interest in municipal affairs, in his own affairs, nor is he as solicit- ous of his neighbors, as the man who owns his home. The little attacks of stomach trouble and stomach disorders will undoubledly lead to chronic dyspepsia unless you take something for a sufficient time to strengthen the stomach and give it a If you take Kodol in the beginning, the bad attacks of Dyspepsia will be avoided, but if you allow these little attacks to go unheed- ed it will take Kodol a longer time to put your stomach in good condition again. Get a bottle of Kodol today. Sold by E. H. Miller. 9-1 The blackberry crop in the logged- off Pine and Meadow Run districts was never heavier than this year. Hun- dreds of buishels of large, luscious berries have been picked during the past week, and Y. .reds of bushels will go to waste for want of pickers. All other kinds of berries that grow in this locality were also very abundant | this year, and the apple and pear crop is also very heavy. x £ A report comes from Shaw Mines that A Mrs. Eaton residing there has put up ninety cans of.. raspberries, this | year, to say nothing of blackberries and other prolific seed-bearing fruit. Mrs. Eaton and every other Eaton in the family will no doubt be kept busy eatin’ raspberries about one half of the time during the coming winter, and devoting the other half to picking the seeds thereof out of their teeth. We are pleased to note an increasing desire on the part of our readers to se- cure at the first possible moment a copy of this paper, and some call at the office and get a copy as it [falls fresh from the press. The-reason is we pub- lish all the news all the time. We want you to help us make it still better by notifying us of the death, marriage or important transactions in which any one from this county is concerned. Summer complaints and other se- rious ailments common in hot weather can be traced to the stomach nine times out of ten. Keep the stomach in good order right now by keeping a bot- tle of Kodol handy in the house all the time, but especially during this month. Take Kodol whenever you feel that you need it. That is the only time you need to take Kodol. Just when you need it ; then you will not be troubled with sour stomach, belching, gas on the stomach, bloating, dyspepsia and indi- gestion. Sold by E. H. Miller. 9-1 Cemerit is each year becoming more and more prominent as a factor in building and construction work. The United States Geological Survey an- nounces that. the production of Port- Jand cement in 1905 amounted to 35,- 246,812 barrels, valued at $33,245,867. This is a gain of 8,740,831 barrels in quantity and $9.890,748 in value over the output of 1904, which amounted to 26,505,881 barrels, valued at $23,355,119- From latest reports everything is progressing nicely in relation to the big annual reunion of the Methodists of Somerset county, at Rockwood, next Tuesday, the 18th. Dr. Wedderspoon more and more seems the right man in the right occasion as a representative Methodist and representative Christian orator. To take care of the annoyance caused by having to provide a basket for the day, the ladies of the Rockwood church have kindly consented to serve lunch, a hot one at that—for visitors, at a nominal sum. August time tells on the nerves. But that spiritless, no ambition feeling can be easily and quickly altered by taking what is known by druggists everywhere as Dr. Shoop’s Restorative. Within 48 hours after beginning to use the Restorative, improvement will be noticed. Of course, full health will not immediately return. The gain, how- ever, will surely follow. And best of all, you will realize and feel your strength and ambition as it is return- ing. Outside influences depress first the “inside nerves,” then the stomach, Heart, and Kidneys will usually fail. Strengthen these failing nerves with Dr. Shoop’s Restorative and see how quickly health will be yours again. Sold by all dealers. 9-1 Miss Luey Livengood, 8° aaugnids Of Mr. and Mrs: P. J. Livengood, was brought home from Somerset, last Thursday evening, in a very critical condition, suffering with a very severe case of hiccough of several days dura- tion. We are pleased to report that the distressing malady has subsided, and none to soon, either, as death would have resulted if the trouble had lasted much longer. Miss Livengood was employed as a domestic in the family of Simon O'Donnell, at their summer home near Somerset, where she was seized by the malady mention- ed. ; Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Lichliter and daughter, of Murphysboro, Jackson county, lll, are the guests of Salisbury friends at present. Mr. Lichliter is a brother of our fellow townsman, Levi Lichliter. He went to Illinois from the Turkeyfoot region, in this county, about 50 years ago. He has prospered in the West, and is now a retired farmer of considerable means. It is his custom to spend considerable time in traveling and sight-seeing, a very sensible and pleasant thing to do after acquiring a competency by hard, honest toil. May he live a goodly. number of years yet to enjoy the fruits of his toil. The footprints of Dyspepsia have been directly traced to the Stomach nerves. When these “inside nerves” fail, indigestion and stomach distress must surely result. For this, drug- gists everywhere are supplying a pre- scription known as Dr. Shoop’s Re- storative. First, these tiny inside Stomach, Heart, and Kidney nerves fail. Then gas, belching, Heart palpi- tation, or failing Kidneys follow. Don’t drug the Stomach, or stimulate the Heart or Kidneys. That is wrong. Strengthen these failing nerves with Dr. Shoop’s Restorative. It is the nerves, not the organs that are calling for help. Within 48 hours after start- ing the Restorative, you will realize the gain. A test will tell. Sold by all dealers. 9-1 Harvey Eichty, a prosperous mer- chant of Wellington, Kan., accompanied by two of his sisters, Mrs. Frank P. Beachy, of Carleton, Neb., and Mrs. H: §. Hickok, of Wichita, Kan., arrived here last week for a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. David Lichty, and other friends and relatives. The visitors have many friends here who ate glad at all times to meet and en- tertain them, as they rank among the best young people that ever left Salis- bury. While in conversation with Harvey, yesterday morning, we were informed by him that Kansas will roll up an enormous majority for Taft and Sherman.
