The B. & O., through its attorneys, last week succeeded in getting the following decree from Judge Kooser : “We now order and decree that the respondents, within twenty days from the service of a copy of this decree upon them, remove their tracks and frogs from defendant’s railroad, at the Moser erossing, the Maustdale crossing, and the Boynton crossing aforesaid, and restore the railroad tracks of defendant to the condition they were in at the time of the issuing of the preliminary injunction in this case, to wit, July 8, 1907, and upon proof that this order has not been complied’ with, after the ex- piration of said twenty days, the Court will make such further order as may then appear to be necessary.” Fraxcis J. Miss Mary Edith Blaugh. a daughter of Mrs. Amanda Camp, of Keyser, Md., died March 14, 1908, at the residence of her uncle, Mr. W. H. Johnson, near Cumberland, Md. She was born Nov. 11, 1887, and had her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Johnson, near Salisbury, Pa., until last November, when she went to Cumber- iand, Md. Mary had for six years been a member of St. Paul’s Evangeli- cal Lutheran church, and while her health permitted, was a faithful and active worker in the Sunday school. She had for several years been a vie- tim of consumption, which slowly but surely wasted the health and bloom of youth. Among her last words was the sentence, “I am going home tomorrow,” spoken the day befere she died. The funeral services were held; Mar. 16, 1908, at the home of W. H. Johnson. Her departure is mourped by many relatives and friends. GIVEN UP TO DIE. B. Spiegel, 1204 N. Virginia St, Evansville, Ind., writes :“For five years I was troubled with kidney and blad- der affections which caused me much pain and worry. I lost flesh and was all run down, and a year ago had to abandon work entirely. I had three of the best physicians, who did me no good and I was practically given up to die. Foley's Kidney Cure was recom- mended, and the first bottle gave me great relief, and after taking the sec- ond bottle I was entirely cured.” Why not let me help you? Sold by all drug- gists. 4-1 Shaffer vs. Shafer. To the Republican Voters: —Mr. Charles C. Shafer has so far overstep- ped the bounds of political propriety as to say that I was “set up as a candi- date (for Prothonotary) merely to con- fuse you in the name.” This is en- tirely uncalled for, because it is un- qualifiedly untrue; since I announcad for that office absolutely of my own volition, which I had the lawful priv- ilege to do. As for the fact that he and I are not related, either by blood or political affinity, he states the truth. I hope the voters may not get the names confused. God forbid that my name should get confused with the name of a man who has held public office for twenty-one years! If elected, I will be content to hold the Prothonotary’s office for one term of three years only. JorN H. SHAFFER. Listie, Pa., March 16, 1908. CHAMBERLAIN’S COUGH REMEDY IS BOTH AGREEABLE AND EFFECTIVE. Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy has no superior for coughs, colds and croup, and the fact that it is pleasant to take and contains nothing in any way in- jurious has made it a favorite with mothers. Mr. W. S. Pelham, a mer- chant of Kirksville, Iowa, says: “For more than twenty years Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy has been my leading remedy for all throat troubles. It is especially successful in cases of croup. Children like it and my customers who have used it will not take any other.” For sale at Miller’s Drug Store. 4-1 1t -To the Voters of Somerset County. As you are aware, I am a. candidate for re-electien to the ffice of Prothono- tary, but owing to my official duties, it will be impossible for me to see you all personally before the Primary Election, April 11th ; so I will endeavor to reach you in this manner. The argument being used against me by my oppe- nents, is, that I have held the office. So I have, through your kindness; but do you know that it requires years of constant practice before any man can successfully conduct the affairs of the Prothonotary’s office? I am not only familiar with the Prothonotary’s office, but with the other county offices as well; and it has always been my pleas- ure to accompany those who came to me for information, to any of the offices in the courthouse, and to procure for them the information desired, with- out Any compensation whatever for my services. An officer not thoroughly fa- miliar with the different county offices would be absolutely unable to do these favors for you, and if re-elected, I shall continue to oblige you whenever I have the opportunity to do so. You will likely find on the official ballot, for Prothonotary, the name of John H. Shaffer, who has been set up as a can- didate merely for the purpose of con- fusing you in the name. Mr. Shaffer is no relation to me whatever. When you cast your ballot, do not be deceived by this trick, but put an x behind the name of the undersigned. it. Very Respectfully. CHARLES C. SHAFER. RHEUMATIC PAINS RELIEVED. Chamberlain’s Pain Balm relieves rheumatic pains and makes sleep and rest posible, which is alone worth many times its cost. B. F.
