Flesher and daughter went to Alverton, West- moreland county, Pa., to attend the funeral of Robert Flesher. Deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Flesher and was aged 19 years. The young man was stricken with typhoid ever and heart failure. The funeral (so Mr. Flesher reports) was largely at- tended, as Robert was a favorite among his associates and all who knew him. Mr. Flesher’s four sons were also in at- tendance at the funeral with their par- ents, at Alverton. < Mr. D. K. Malcolm is building an ad- dition to his store room. His business has grown too large for his present quarters. We had no knockdowns to report for July 4th, but we have one now. One morning last week some-of the citizens in that part of the town near Mal- colm’s store were aroused by loud talk and curses, and we have learned that two of Mrs. Jennings’ boarders had a “set-to,” one batting the other with a base ball bat. To be beaten with a base ball bat is enough to make a man talk loud. . We noticed in Tue Star, last week, that Mrs. Ira Flesher killed a large rat- tlesnake while picking huckleberries, a few days ago, on Negro Mountain, and that the snake Measured 3!5 feet. Last week Emery Flesher and some of the other people of this place were in the same locality after berries, and Mr. Flesher and Henry Pile each killed a rattler of the same length as the one killed by Mrs. Ira¥Flesher. Hopkins, of Polar, Wis., says: “After unsuccess- fully doctoring -three years for rheu- matism with the best doctors, I tried Foley’s Kidney Cure and it cured me. I cannot speak too highly of this great medicine.” E. H. Miller. Reunion of the 142 Regiment. Thursday, September 4th, has been fixed as the time for the reunion of the 142nd regiment in Berlin.
