Wilt’s new business block is now under course of erection, under the skillful management of IFrank F. Petry, the genial, red-headed hustler of Gravil Hill. Tt is needless to say that the work is being well and rapidly done. Albert Lowry is helping on the job and is handling the “choices” with his old-time dexterity. Read the new advertisements in this issue of the Elk Lick Pharmacy and the Elk Lick Supply Company. They contain some valuable information for everybody. Also read among the paid locals the announcements of H. H. eitz, B. ¥. Livengood and the West Salisbury Mutual Insurance Associa- tion. They are important. Last Saturday evening there was some more disturbance at Tedrow Brothers’ merry-go-round. We don't know who all were implicated in the rumpus, but two arrests followed, and William and George Harding were compelled to pay a few dollars into the borough exchequer. Verily, the way of the transgressor is hard. Mr. Howard H. Keim, of Ladoga, Ind., is visiting at his old home in this city. Mr. Keim is looking well and re- ports his business in the Hoosier state all that could be desired. He is a prominent stock farmer and devotes special attention to thoroughbred sheep We are all glad to welcome him to our town. He is a royal good fellow. Easton, who has been paralyzed for about 20 years and un- able to walk, was last week taken to Johnstown, where she will be cared for by one of her daughters who resides there. Jeffery has purchased Mort. Wagner's stock of groceries and is now running two thoroughly up-to-date stores. As soon as the Wilt business block is completed he will move into it and consolidate both stores, which will place him in the front ranks of the merchandising business. Jeffery is a hustler, and his many friends wish him increased and continued success. Niverton is becoming notorious for its fights and drunken brawls. An Ital- ian of that village recently shot at Fillmore 8. Enos, then skipped across the state line into Maryland. It is getting to be a common thing at Niver- ton for the denizens of that village, principally Italians and Slavs, to slash each other with knives and shoot at one another. Mayor Floyd Morrison ought to swear in a large force of spee- ial police. The wolf in the fable put on sheep’s clothing because if he traveled on his own reputation he couldn’t accomplish his purpose. Counterfeiters of De- Witt’s Witch Hazel Salve couldn’t sell their worthless salve on their merits, so they put them in boxes and wrap- pers like DeWitt’s. Look out for them. Take only DeWitt’s Witch Ilazel Salve. It cures piles and all skin diseases. Sold by medicine dealers. Be sure to read the big new new “ad” of the Elk Lick Pharmacy. Miller & Shaler have decided to close out the fine stock of racket goods they pur- chased from M. J. Glotfelty, and at the prices they offer the stock, their shelves will doubtless soon be cleared to make room for the big drug stock they have on the way. These gentlemen come here with the best of references, and they propose to give Salisbury a drug second to none in the county. Now is a good time to get acquainted with the new firm and get big bargains in fine goods at the same time. store Horse Book contains more than many volumes ten times its size. It would seem impossible, in view of the many successes scored by “The Philadelphia Sunday Press” to excel in the free distribution of art souvenirs, yet that will be the fact. The subject to be given free to every reader of next Sunday’s “Press” is a beautiful “Bird Panel,” and will surpass anything ever given away.
