Mr. Da. /Owens, of Cambria township, who has muny friends and relatives in this city, died Wednesday morning at his home about six miles north of Ebens burc after an il'uess of over three months. The deceased was horn in Montgomery shire, Wales, October 28, 1828, and came to this country with hisfatber,Griffith Owens, and family, when he was about five years of age. The father came .to Ebensburg with his family, muny other Welsh settle ing about there at the same time. About a year after /coming to this county he settled on and begun t J clear the farm on which he resided liH Ills death, when the son, David, bought out the rest of the heirs and continued the farming and lumbering business as hie father had done. The deceased was married to Marv Lewis, daughter of Rev. David Lewis, about thirty-four years ago, who with all their children survive him. The children arc John, who lives on a part of his farther's farm; Maggie, wife of R. L. Edwards, a baker and coufectioner, of Connellsville, and formeilyof Johnstown ; David Lewis, who lives near Ebensburg at the Knorr tannery; William Addison, who lives at home; Jennie, wife of Pryce Davis, for merly employed with his brother Elmer E. Davis, of this city, Harriet and Robert who reside at home. Jlr. Oweus is a brother of Mrs. Henry McMullen, of No. 110 Feeder street, this city. Griffith Owens, who died on Iron street, some three years ago w as a brother of the dectaml. Mis. John Stolz, of Carrolltown, and Mrs. Gilpatrick, of Indiana county, are also sisters of the deceased.
