Th.e Democrat.! FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1889. ' THE NEW CITV. Tlie Moile of l'rooeilure In Obtaining H City Charter—When It Will go Into Kfleot. Prior to the election there wns much dtsire to know when and how a city gov eminent would be organized, and when it would go into effect, should consolida tion carry. Since we are to have a citv, there Is an increased desire to know just What steps will be taken. In that mattei the mode of proceeding will be about as follows: The certificates of the election will be tent to the Secretary of the Common- Wealth, and through him they will reach the Governor, who will then issue a char ter. Inside of sixty days it is the duty Of the eorporate authorities to make and •end in the boundaries of the proposed city to the Governor. This will be nec essary before the issuing of the charter. On the third Tuesday ot February, a Mayor and all other city officers will be elected. On the first Monday of April they will begin their duties, and until that time the different boroughs will man- Age their own affairs as at present. THE WUHK AT PROSPECT. Will be Finished To-Morrow-Luwer Yoder Next. Fifty-two bodies were removed from Prospect yesterday. There wtre three identified. Mrs. Rachel Wehn and grand daughter, Annie, daughter of William I*. Wehn, and Earl Stophel. The workmen expect to complete the Work at Prospect to-morrow. They will next lift the " unknown " from the Cath olic Cemetery in Lower Yoder. It would be well for those to be present Who have friends buried there, euppposed to be among those buried as " ideuiified." It often haopens that bodies buried as " identified " are found to be some one •lee when raised. What a Great Clothing Concern Sape. We have too much business in us to withstand te great pressure of being on t lie main street, e want tc be shoulder to shoulder with the greatest competition of our city. \\ e want to kaume our former position so as to be able to accommodate our patrons and friends. We have teased the building formerly occupied by Clark, 9U Main street, and will, after alterations com plete occupy the same. We have lnaugerated a grand removal sale. Our stock must be re duced, and done quickly too, no mutter what •be loos will be. flow our prices will suffer. On swery article will be noticed on the cut price worked In red Ink on every article. All goods must go wttlh two weeks at the ECONOMY CLOTHING Co., Franklin and I.ocust. DIED. JSLOCH.—In Cunemaugh borough, on Sunday Novembers, ltisa, lleury Bloch, aged 51 years.
