He removed his family to the farm last Monday. Uncle John Hann came to Mc Connellsburg tomeet them. We are glad to restore to our subscription list the name of Mr. T. S, Shoemaker, formerly of this county, who ha3 not lost his in terest in the County'y welfare. Thad is now chief inspector of Ordinance Inspection with the Bethlehem Steel Company, Sub Contracts. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sipe?, near Harrisonville, spent a few hours in town last Friday, doing some shopping and greeting old friends. While Mr. Sipes is not very strong, and Mrs. Sipes is afflicted with rheumatism, they make it a point to get to McCon nellsburg occasionally. -Mr. Ed Hendershot brought the worthy pair to town in his Maxwell. On Tuesday of la3t week a frol ic was made and twenty-five men besides women and children assembled a t Needmore and worked upon the construction of the new Methodist church with might and main, and succeeded in doing a nice lot of work until it began to rain. The part of the program that tickled the men most was when the ladies invited them to get under the shelter of the schoolhouse porch roof and partake of a grand dinner that had been provided. Mrs. A. R. Powell, (Louie lin ger) of Dixon, 111., wants us to "hurry up" with our new rail road. She would like to visit bef did home and friends in Ful ton County, and she doesn't want to ride over the mountain in a hack. As a matter of informa tion to Mrs. Powell and to any other that might be interested, we have automobiles making five round trips between McConnells burg and Chambersburg every day whose business it is to carry passengers, and it costs only a dollar one way, or a dollar and a half round trip, between McCon Tiellsburg and Chambersburg and the trip is made in a little more than an hour, and the road (the Lincoln Highway) is just grand. There will be an orchestra and many instrumental solos, and duetts of the various instruments, vocal solos, comic sketches, &c. It will be a great treat, and all for a quarter. To Have the Air. Merrill W. Nace is having a sleeping porch built to the north side of the second story of his dwelling. It will be arranged with roof, and open sides that can be closed in case of storm. The kiddies will be "turned out" into the fresh air apartment at night Thi3, with the spacious lawns, play tents, sand boxes, and big porches down stairs, will keep the children in the open air practically twenty-four hours ev ery summer day. This treatment is said to be hard on the doc tors, but very good for the youngsters. Had Hard Fall. Last Monday afternoon, Mrs B. Woollet attempted to go to the cellar by way of an outside entrance. At the top of the three steps in the passageway, she missed her footing and fell head long to the floor at the foot of the stairs. The left side of her face was so badly bruised that the eye soon closed by reason of the swelling, and a spot the size of top of a teacup became black from congested blood vessels. Church Notices.
