Among the Big Cove shoppers in Chambersburg last week were Miss Emma McGovern and Miss Mary Sloan, of McConnellsburg. Mr. Reuben R. Sipes, one of Licking Creek township's sub stantial farmers, was in town at tcr.Jing to business Monday morn ing. Ex-Postmaster S. B. Woollet finds pleasurable employment for his active mind and body by keeping the cleanest garden in town. Editor and Mrs. A. D. Peigh tel, the latter'sson George Trog ler, and Undertaker H. S. Thomas Leasure and his broth-;r-in-law John Summers, of Wood, Huntingdon county, spent a few days m this county during the past week. They report times brisk up on the mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Logue Hess and ions Levi and Rinehart, of War fordsburg, R. R. 1, accompanied by Miss Emma Hess, spent last Thursday in town shopping and attending to other little matters of business. ' Among the appropriate exhibits tourists look for in central Penn sylvania mountain : villages are sportsmen's trophies. L. W. Seylar probably has the finest exhibit of deer heads along Lin coln Highway. Miss Ruth Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Cooper, of Ayr township, underwent an operation for, appendicitis in the Chambersburg hospital last Fri day afternoon. The operation was successful and Ruth is get ting along well. She had been going to school in Chambers burg. Last Sunday morning L. W. Funk, in his "Grant Six" took Hon. and Mrs. George B. Mellott, their daughters -Blanche and Mazie (Mrs. Van Hart) and Mazie's little daughter Catherine all down to the old home place where they spent the day very pleasantly with George's mother, Mrs. Parthenia Mellott. S. L. Simpson, of Thompson township, was in town for a short time Tuesday. We looked him over carefully but failed to find any scars of the late battle for a sent in the Legislature. Mrs. Emma Kegarise, near Dane was taken to the Chambers burg hospital last week, and on Wednesday underwent an opera tion for appendicitis, which was entirely successful and Mrs. Keg arise will soon be able to return to her home. .Ir. P. P. Mann, who ha3 been in the Harness and Saddlery busi ness in this place for several years is removing to Hancock. Mr. Mann is a good conscientious workman, and takes with him the best wishes of his McCon nellsburg friends and neighbors for success in hte new home. Clinton County is represented at the Pennsylvania State College by twenty-four students. Four of them are seniors and will be graduated next month, two are juniors, seven are members of, the sophomore class, nine are ! listed with the freshmen, one is a two year agriculturist and an other is a special student. Cooper, whose daugh ter Ruth underwent an operation in the Chambersburg hospital last Friday for appendicitis, re turned to his home in the Cove Monday, reporting that hi3 daugh ter was getting along finely.
