Fleming of McCon nellsburg, spent last Sunday in the home of his mother, Mrs. T. E. Fleming, and Mr. and Mrs. Levi P. Morton, of Dadley, spent the day with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Stevens. Mrs. Jennie Miller, of Dane, spent from Thursday until Sun day with her sister Mrs. R. J. Fields. Farmors are now busy putting the ground in good condition for the planting of spring crops. The lateness of tho spring kept farmers back. Master Oi,is P. Korlin, spent Sunday with bis sister Blanche, Mrs. Bert Henry near McCon nellsburg, and was accompanied home by his niece Mabel Henry, who will visit in the Kerlin home. Ralph Ramsey, attending school at Three Springs, was at home over Sunday. Miss Elizabeth Henry, who taught in Huntingdon during the past scholastic year, returned to this place last weeic. Miss Lillian Miller, of Dublin M ills, was in our village awhik last Friday. Daniel S. Henry met with ar accident last Tuesday in which ha had a foot and leg pretty bad ly hurt Our town will be represented at the McConnellsburg Normal this term by Earlo R. Fields, Rufus Henry, Miss Emma Kerlia and Miss Olive Browu. It is an old saying that there never was an April without rye heads, nor a May without wheat heads; but, owing to tho later.ess of the spring, rye heads were mighty scarce in April this year. WELLS TANNERY. After spending thirty-three years on their farm Dear this place, Mr. and Mrs. Georgo A. Stewart, sold the old homestead, and on Monday of this week, bade farewell to old associations, and went to Pittsburgh, where they will speud some time visiting their children, before deciding upon a place for permanent loca tion. Mr. Glenn Dovnes, of Kan sas City, who purchased the Stewart farm, has taken posses sion of it, and the home for the present will be made up of his mother Mrs. Jennie Downes, and his sister Roxie. We extend to them the glad hand, and trust they may find in us as good neigh bors as they left in Kansas City. Roy Deshong and Minnie S wope are n Lancaster attending theIC G. E.
