The Methodists find the ques tion of an increase of ministers' salaries pressing itself forconsid cration and uave given some at tention to it at their conferences this year. The compensation of many of them, and this is true in other churches as well' as the Methodist, is not sufficient to supportthem properly and it is necessary to devise some means to make it more liberal, when men for services not as useful as . those of the minister, or which are useless or worse, are paid many times as much as he is.
