It has been looking pretty "winterish" during the last few days. Farmers that are back with their corn will have to hurry up if they don't want to get cold fingers. Quite a number of hunters from the western part of the State are here for tho opening of the deer season. Samuel W. Hart and his broth er in law Jonathan Cope both of Chester county came to the Cove last week for a little hunt and to visit relatives and old time friends. Jonathan and Bartlett Cope who was here with him, started for home last Sunday. Will H. Lake, of McKibbin, was in the Cove last week. Clark Barton, of Crystal Springs, was in the Cove last Friday. Harry Hill and family spent last Sunday afternoon at Ira Smith's. There was quite an excitement among a number of our local hunters and some foreign hunt ers last Thursday night. They had what they supposed was a coon on a tree near Albert Pies singer's, and the telephone line wus kept red hot for awhile, summoning assistance. Finally the assistance came; the tree was cut, and there was no coon. Watson Plessinger and wife, and Roy, spent last Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Plessinger, and Nathan Mellott and wife spent Snnday afternoon in the home of Moses Diehl. Rev. T. P. Gailand preached at Jerusalem church last Sunday morning, after which communion services were observed. Benjamin Morris threshed his last crop lor the season last week and pulled his engine into Asa Mellott's barn. The teachers' training class, organized some months ago to take a complete course in bible study, did not have their meeting at the usual time last Sunday evening owing to the illness of Frank P. Plessiuger's little daugh ter Mary. The memoers of the class are Achsah Plessinger, Martha Garland, James Garland, F. P. Plessinger, and Edw. F. Mellott.
