The Pleasant Ridge Sunday school was re-organized last Sun day with the following officers: Superintendent, John Mellott; Assistant Superintendent, J. C. Garknd; Secretary, J. G. Mel lott, and Treasurer, I. W. Gar land. It is hoped that the sur rounding community will take a deep interest in the school, and help to make it a source of much power for good. Monday morning, the peanut roasting plant of Henry C. Heck erman, at Bedford, was destroy ed by fire, evidently of incendiary origin. Up to this time, Bedford has enjoyed the distinction of hav mg the largest peanut-roasting and packing establishment in the United States, aDd the product was shipped to every State in the Union. The Walnut Grove Citnpineet ing was started by David Ashton in 1891 In 18'JO tho ground was deeded to the East Pennsylvania Eldership of the churches of God. In 1898 tho ground was present ed to the Eldership. The Elder ship accepted the gift and elect ed J. S. Reihart, Dockers Locke and Silas Cutchall trustees. In 1902, the Elders elected J. S. Reihart, David Ashton, and J. R. Linn trustees and gave them full controll of the camp as wall as the grounds. In 1006, the Elder ship elected Rev. F. W. McGuire and Rev. L C. Sollenberger trus tees. Rev. McGuire has served since that time. The present trustees serving with him are Revs. J. T. Flegal and J M. Wag goner. The trustees asked the Elder ship recently to relieve them of the burden of conducting the camp. This led to the forming of an Association. This Associa tion will protect the rights of all. It will be under tho control of the Eldership and all permanent tent holders aud others having rights in the ground, will be fully protected. All are invited to the meeting of May 3d.
