Husler Gets Six Months.
Chas. S. Husler, the game
warden who figured in the arrest
of Baldwin Fraker and Wm. Mil
ler, of Dublin township, last fall,
charging them with illegally call
ing turkeys, was taken before
Judge Capp, in Harrisburg, cn
last Friday, to answer the charge
of false pretense preferred by
Dr. Kalbfus, the State game com
missioner. Husler, it was alleg
ed, reported to Dr. Kalbfus of
work he did amounting to $100,
which Dr. Kalbfus paid over to
him. The work reported by
Husler, the Doctor found out af
terwards, was not performed and
Husler was arrested for false pre
tense. The case was submitted
to the jury and Husler was found
guilty. Judge Capp sentenced
him to the county jail for six
months.

Horse Died.
A valuable horse belonging to
Mr. AlbertBerkstresser, of Wells
township, died at the Fulton
House stables on Sunday. The
horse was apparently well on Sat
urday morning and Mr. Berk
stresser started home. After
driving a short distance out of
town he noticed the horse was
sick. He returned at once and
sent to Mercersburg for Dr. Brad
ley, who came over, but could do
nothing and the horse died on
Sunday evening.

March 21, 1900, at the Lutheran
parsonage, Hagerstown, Md., by
the pastor, Rev. W. H. Lilley.

The Prohibition State Convention.
The state executive committee
of the Prohibition party, at a
meeting held on Tuesday of last
week in Philadelphia, decided- to
hold this year's State Convention
in Harrisburg . on May 23d and
24th. A st-.temeut issued after
the meeting announcing the date
of the convention says that "the
members of the committee were
a unit in deciding that the logic
of the situation demanded the
nomination ot Homer L. Castle,
of Pittsburg, for governor."
