Upton Truax and wife and .J. A Truax aud wife, of Breeze wood, give the following account of a very pleasant trip they re cently made to the West : We left Everett October L'jth, got intolluntingdon at5:S'0o'cIock and there changed cars for Chica go. We found it a beautiful city and staid there three hours, then took the train for Kansas City, and arrived there at n o'clock in the morning. That is a tine city. We were there three hours and 'vent out over the city to see the Bights and the people. Then we took the train for I'eabody, K'au. Went through Chilocothe. That is another tine city through North Topeka at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and the next place we got to look around was at Marion. That was a very nice place. We left it and got to Peabody at "i:!J0 o'clock, and was getting pretty t'red, for we had been two days and two nights on the road. At Peabody we met four brothers and three sisters, some of whom 1 hud never seeu. There are sev en brothers and three sisters in Kansas all doing well. Three ot the boys are married aud have good homes. That is what 1 like to see everybody getting along or should be on his guard against this grossly fraudulent practice, and for the sake of his reputatiou, should refuse to handle rice hulls or any feed which is adulterated with the same. In buying feeds from the manufacturer or jobber, the dealer should be sure that the amount of protein and fat is guar inteed, and also should demand a written guarantee that the ma terial is not adulterated in any manner. Every feed dealer in the State should -alue his repu tation, lie is responsible for sell ing adulterated goods and for any injurious effects caused by feed ing materials which he handles. This Department hopes for the co operation of dealers to the end, that the best results may he se cured and the quality of our feed ing stuffs mr.y be improved. N. 11. ClilTCHI'IKI.P.
