Well, as winler is approaching iiml Thanksgiving drawing near, 1 will give to the Ntws a few items which I hope will be of some in terest to its many readers. Thanksgiving it rawing near, re minds me of an accident that hap pened a short time ago. A woman residing on a farm not lar from here, is a very skillful turkey raiser, and year after year, she raises a nico Hock of turkeys and ships them to the city for Thanks giving dinners. This year, as us ual, she raised a very nice Hock of turkeys, and among them a very large gobbler. Just a morn ing or so ago as she was feeding her Hock, she wondered to other members of the family, what the gobbler would weigh. To satis fy her curiosity, they weighed him, and he tipped the scales at 25 lbs. But, alas ! little did she think that would be the last time she would see him; for he went away with the rest of the flock, and never returned. What hap pened ? Did he think that weigh, ing meant Thanksgiving soon ? What the gobbler thought or where he went we don't know, but he "never came back any more." Well, to change the subject. you 1 scribe was passing through tli above named village one evening and his ear caught the sound of something that seemed to be o lin ing from a distance, so, he stop ped to listen. "Ting-a ling, ting a ling." What is it? At tirst In thought it was the village hand practicing the bell part ol their introductory overture, but as ItV . t ... -I.....!.. I nsiuueu luoru cns:iy ui"- ntnf seemed to bo coming from th jold Huston wagonshed; so he thought he would seo what this all meaut went in, and to his surprise it was the band- not our brass bund but the calathumpian baud. The'' had cow bells, sleigh belis, etc , and sand paper and silver polisl brighteniug them up until the; looked new; so inquiring what al this meant ho was told that they hadn't used them for f.o long, they need cleaning up for use before long. Of course your scribe m- ! quired further into the matter as j to who was to be married, and I they said, "O.'some one down the j road." i ... Saved by Uvnaniitc Sometimes, a llaming city is saved by dynamiting a space that the fire can't cross. Sometimes a cough hangs on so long you feel as if nothing but dynamite would cure it. Z. T. Gray, of Calhoun, Ga., writes: "My wifohad a very aggravated cough, which kepi her awake nights. Two physi cians could not help her; so she took Dr. King's New Discovery for consumption, coughs and colds, which eased her cough, g ive her sleep, and finally cured her. " Strictly scientific cure for bronchitis and la grippe. At Trout's drug store, price 50c and $1.00; guaranteed. Trill bottle free. ciro. Mrs. Reed is joorly.
