The music was furnished by Uello (irove brass band, Buck valley brass and string band, drum corps, and Lutheran and Moth odistSumlayschooIs. Many able speakers of home talent were present, delivered speeches and recitations, after which tho base ball teams of the Valley and Mays Chapel used the balance of the day with an interesting game of ball. The score was 27 to li in favor of tho Valley team, both Rides doing very well considering what little practice they had. The festival and box social at night was well attended, keeping up until tho midnight hour. Ev erything went off very quietly, i.ll saying they had spent an en- j yablo day and evening. Messrs. Louis and Dneiper Schultz and Charles Geinger took advantage of the low rate excur sion to Washington last Sunday. . Messrs. Nathan Wigtield and Truman Bowman made a Hying trip to the Counay Seat last week. Hart last Friday. They al so made a friendly call on Dr. Palmer. Tho Doctors are surgeons from the P. K. K., and were out for a little outing and renewing old ac quaintances. J. E. Lauehardt's little son, who had a compound fracture of one bone of the forearm and dis location of the other, is improv ing rapidly. Our people are very enthusias tic over their chance of obtaining an K. F. D. route. Should we ob tain this, it will show that our postoflico is up-to-date. Charley Kershner. by an in genious arrangement on the order of a block and tackle, moved his stable quite a distance last week, almost unaided. ' Esta Hart spent a few days with her aunt, Mrs. J. W. Lake at Pleasant Bidge. Mrs. lioss Bard spent part of last week with her father, Dr. J. B. Mellott. Tho soug service at the church on Sunday afternoon was a suc cess. Saved From Terrible Death.
