Mr. Daniel Landers of Taylor township spent Tuesday night at the County Seat, and found time to come in and cbat with the edi tor a few minutes. Robert L. Jackson having pur chased Sanner Ray's loom is now prepared to weave blankets, car pets, &c, at his home on Walnut street in this place. Mr. Sanner Ray on Tuesday moved his family from his prop erty near Big Cove Tannery into the Davy Little property in this place, which he and Mr. D. E. Keyset recently purchased. The subscription list of the Fulton County jews is grow ing at a very gratifying pace. Let the good work go on until ev ery family in the county will have the weekly visits of Pulton's big paper. A dollar bill brings it a whole year. Persons who send in items for uublication without giving the name of the writer might as well save the money they pay for post age and send it to help the Rus sians. Our wastebasket has in it some fairly good items that came in this week, but we could not find the name of the writer. While we very mucti appreci ate the valuable service of our large number of faithful corre spondents, it must, of course, be understood that the editor shall decide what items may be pub lished and what must be left out. Even common table salt has not escaped adulteration at the hands of unscrupulous dealers, accord ing to the reports now being pre pared by chemists under instruc tions from Dr. Warren, dairy and food commissioner. Within a few days the pure food 'agents will ummon more than a score of persons lor selling adulterated table salt. Just what the dealers use as an adulterant has not been made known, but of 40 samples, purchased at various places by the agents the chemists report that they found 30 of the speci mens adulterated. Dr. Warren has ordered his attorney to begin prosecutions and action will be taken as soon as the chemical re ports are complete. The crusade against adulterated foods, Dr. Warren says, will bo-most com plete this year.
