Some time ago Thos. F. SloaD
jC this place, received a letter
from an insurance agent at Daven
port, Iowa, asking Mr. Sloan if
he could give any information con
';eruingone Albert W. Fields.
Mr. Sloan consulted our towns
man Deputy Sheriff D. T. Fields
when the latter informed him
that Albert was his sou, aud that
the last he had hoaid from Alber
he was in Sioux City, Iowa. This
information was forwarded to the
Davenport .igent, and little dim"
;ulty was had in locating Alber
in Sioux City. The inquiry was
raised from the fact that in le71
ho hither had taken out. n hfV. in
u ranee policy on the life of the
sou. had paid two or three pay
moms on it and let it drop. It
i urns out now that the policy has
in intrinsic value, aud the Com

BUFFALO ROBES SCARCt.
Looking at all the fancy sleighs
n the streets and about the coun

in evidence. Those which are
een are, as a rule, in very poor

fallen back upon tlio new woolen
robes or those made of bearskins
r other hides. The buffalo robe
s almost a thing of the past.
