A vacation Is not always a rest. The poet is born, the poete muiil. It takes cold cash even to have a hot old time. It doesn't puy to mix fireworks and firo water. Genius doesn't ulwurs look well in evening clothes. Even tho blind beggar may have an eye for business. The export accimntaut generu'ly speaks figuratively. When in low spirits some fellows take to hijjh balls. Hard work is the. best antidote fur that tired feeling. Misfortune is always willing to meet a man half way. Some people ore ulways late and some are too previous. Glittering generalities often prove that silence is golden. Some men would l ather get married again then move. An actor isn't much good unless he can take his own part. Few of us manage to keep pace with iur good intentions. July came in us though determined to muke up fur lost time. Some men's idea of a friend is u fel low they can muke use of. A cook in the kitchen is worth two in the employment otlice. It's the high-liver who demonstrates that riches have wings. There a world of difference between a person and u personage. The shirtwaist man is an advocate of woman's rights for men. The lazy man wuuts to press the but ton and do nothing but rest. A luxury sometimes develops into a necessity before wo know it. The fool never puts off till to-morrow what he shouldn't do at all. At any rate an unsuccessful mud doesn't have to respond lo encores. When it comes to advertising the merchant must put up or shut up shop. An honest man is the uoblest work of God if lie has been put to the test. If Ananias were living to-day he I could easily get a job writing summer j resort booklets. Tho tact that a fool and his money are soon parted keeps lots of other people in allluenee. One swallow doesn't make a summer any more than do russet shoes and I'anama hats. It's the bargain counter that keeps many a married man's nose down to the grind stone. No matter how homely she may be, every girl thinks she will make a beau tiful bride. Wheu a baby's grandmothers are 11 dead It stands a pretty good chance of not being spoiled. The general apprehension that unknown and dreaded disease, parasites, may ho brought to tho United States by soldiers who serve in the Philippines has .sug gested a careful examination of the army patients scut to St. Elizabeth's insane asylum, near Washington, D. For several months there has been in prog ress an iiKuiry into tho subject of pafasitic intestinal symptoms, and 500 separate microscopical examinations have been made at the hygienic laboratory of tho public health service. The results illustrate tho fact lhat caution must be taken to avert a spread of diseases hereto fore unknown to this country. Tho conclusions of the inquiry show that army life in the Philip pines is couducive to iufection by para3ites wholly unknown in tho United States.
