Beware of Small Pox. There are twenty cases of small pox reported at McKee's Falls, Snyder county, several deaths having resulted. A girl who had been on a visit to the coal regions carried the disease there. Carelessness has result ed in its spread. About two weeks ago a man with small pox was carried over the S. & L. railroad. When he got on the train he laid down in the seat and covered his face with his handkerchief to hide his con dition. Our people cannot be too care ful. The best plan is to get vacci uated, as years of experience has shown this to be apositiveprevent ivo of the disease attacking tho subject in any but very light form. Some people are afraid to get vaccinated. For their benefit we append the foil wing receipt which is being used to a great ex tent in Philadelphia: Oue grain of zinc, one grain of fox glove sometimes called digitalis. Mix with two tablespoonsful of water; when thoroughly mixed add four ounces of water; take a teaspoon ful every hour for twelve hours. This medicine is not only said to be a cure for small pox, but also a substitute for vaccination. Children Especially Liable. Burns, bruises and cuts are extremely painful and if neglect ed often result in blood poisoning. Children are especially liable to such mishaps because not so careful.
