Several young people of this place held a marsh mellow roast at Camp Helvetym Monday evening. The Lake Mokoma Company is shipping two car loads of ico daily to Williamsport. Miss Erma Swisher of New Albany visited her home in this place over Sunday. A. T. Kilmer of Whcelerville was a business man in the county seat the latter part of last week. William Stonnont and family of New York, are spending the sum mer in Laporte, the guests of his father. Frank Strickland of Hillsgrove, Republican candidate for the nom ination of County Commissioner, was a business man in the county seat Wednesday. Mr. Strickland is a strong Republican and will undoubtedly receive the support of a large number of the members of the party. The graduates of the Lock Haven State Normal School are every where filling important positions, not only in the public schools, but as County and City Superinten dents, College Professors and in business affairs. A recent graduate was appointed during the last month as State Entomologist of Indiana at a handsome salary. He attributes much of his success to the careful training in science that he received at Lock Haven. Other students can do likewise. During the last two years, the 1 school has been filled to its capacity and in the future the number of students will be limited in order that they may all receive individ ual attention. While swinging in a hammock with three other children, the five year old son of Christopher Brocli arfc of year Nordmont, was serious, ly injured on Saturday last. One end of the hammock was fastened to a hand cider press which toppled over with the four children swinging in it, striking young Brocliart and inflicting a serious gash across the forehead and injur ing one eye. Dr. Randall of this place was summoned and dressed the wounds. The youngster is re covering nicely. Our Big Bargain. Corson, one of New Albany's most popular young ladies, were married week before last and are spending their honeymoon in York State. Details of the joyful affair are not available. Miller of Hoytville, and Mrs. C. M, Clark of Jersey Shore, were called to the home of their parents Fridy r on account of Mrs. Bird's illnes Miss Olive I'lotts has the diph theria. At this writing she is get ting along as well as can be expect ed. Nelson Mullen, who has made a record for himself as High School teacher in Chester County, has come back to Sullivan, as he is needed by his parents. Mr. Mullen graduated at the West Chester Normal School in 1908, and has since married an excellent girl from that part of the state. An Ico Cream Social was held at Estella Saturday evening. The proceeds will be used for purchasing a bell for the High School. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Brown of Jersey Shore, are visiting relatives in this section. Roy Jennings has been spending much of his time lately in the em ploy of the Telephone Company. Miss (irace Wlieatley is spending a few days with Dr. and Mrs. Davies at Bloosburg, Tioga County.
