Loses Memory Through Operation. Following a successful surgical op eration at Chicago for the removal of a tumor from the brain, Jesse V. Tay lor has been brought to his home at Fort Wayne, Ind., in the mental condi tion of a five-year-old child. Taylor was editor of an agricultural publication in Chicago when a strange development resulted in an almost complete loss of memory. Physicians say that Taylor must now begin to learn as a little child would and it will be necessary to start anew to teach him. Physically he Is as well as ever, but theer is small hope of his complete mental recovery. He Was Not Forgotten. An old Oxford graduate recently Journeyed all the way from Cornwall to revisit the scenes of his youth. As lie entered the gate a bill was pre sented to him for goods supplied to him when he was an undergraduate nearly half a century before. Wilson after trying them wrote: "I have used Dr. Miles' Nerve and Liver Pllla and also your Anti-Pain Pills, on myself, with good results. The Liver Pills act so naturally and so easily that I scarcely know that I have taken a pill. Frequently being troubled with headache I take an Anti-Pain Pill and get immediate relief In every case." A. L. Wilson, Sparta, 111. Mr. Wilson was for a number of years cashier of the First National Bank of Sparta. Dr. Miles' Nerve and Liver Pilk are different from others. Many kinds of liver pills are "impossible" after one trial on account of their harshness. Dr. Miles' Nerve and Liver Pills do not act by sheer force ' but in an easy, natural way, with out griping or undue irritation. ; They are not habit forming. If the first bottle falls to benefit, your druggist will return the price. Ask him. MILES MEDICAL CO., Elkhart, Ind. Register's Notices. Arrangements are being made to organize a basket ball team in La porte. The Lake Mokoma Com 1 pany have granted the use of their dancing pavilion on the Mokoma grounds for a court. We have some pretty good stock for basket ballists in our town and with a reasonable amount of training we think a team composed of the young athletes of this place can hold their own for the county seat. Basket ball however requires agility and practice to make good. We have the former quality and it is only a matter of time until our team will —but what's the use telling what they will do. That would spoil the interest and besides we see a few mighty good teams around this section pricking up their ears at our words, and we do not feel ex actly safe in predicting an entirely sunny career for our boys.
