There are at present four cases of

(,f polluting the drinking water,
and premises kept in a good, clean
condition. But at present the pig
pens are all in the town with a row

wonder there is typhoid.

FARMING IS A SCIENCE.
"Bo Sara Governor Bell of Vermont to
the Legislature.
Governor C. J. Dell of Vermont in
opening his address to the legislature
■nid that agriculture continues to be
the most important field for our activi
ties mid best endeavor in the state of
Vermont. He spoke of the valuable
work done by the College of Agricul
ture, the forestry commission, the Dai
ry men's association, the Maple Sugar
nssoclatlon, the Horticultural society
iiu<l kindred organizations and re
marked that, aided by these and sup
plemented by the instructive work In
tbe grange, Vermont has been able to
lucrease and wonderfully develop the
agricultural worth of the state. Today
farming is recognized as a science and
haloed ought to be called one of the
profession#, for he who succeeds in It
luuHt be well Informed and thoroughly
understand the business, therefore it
follows that tbe farmer must recognize
his rights and be ready to demand
. them In matters of legislation. 4
The Vermont legislature is largely
mmle up of farmers, and with Govern
or Hell's approval much legislation of
importance to the farmer will no doubt
be enacted at this session. Mr. Bell 14
the "grange governor," and that he
will have a keen eye for the farmers'
interest need not be said.

Life Insurance
A FEW OF THE MANY REASONS
WHY YOU SHOULD HAVE
A POLICY
WITH THE NEW YORK LIFE
BECAUSE—lncontestable from the
date of issue. Because—absolutely
without restrictions. Because —non
forfeitable from date of issue. Be
cause—cash loans are provided after
second year, on demand at 5 per cent
interest without fee or other charge.
Because—if death does not occur an
accumulative policy is a highly profi
table investment for the policy-holder
who lives.
Policies now maturing to living
policy-holders prove this. In fact
NEW YORK LIFE policies do not
leak.
