Vernon M. K. | church, Friday. May 23. Afternoon session:—Convention called to order at 2 o'clock, by singing, followed by Kev. E.-.8. Waltz reading a chapter from the Bible, after which he offered up a prayer. Kev. J. < iuldin then gave an address of welcome, to which Kev. S. It. Bidlack responded. Kev. Benjamin Welch .gave an interest ing talk on the subjest of "When and llow to Teach the Lesson bv Questions and liiscourse," which was followed by singing. "How to increase the attendance of par nts in the Sabbath School,"' was talked on by Kev. J.'l'. Bradford: others gave short speeches on this subject. Rev. S. R. Bidlack then sang a solo, the con gregation sliowing their appreciation by gladly joining him in the chorus. •'What preparation of the lesson should the Superintendent and Teacher make?" was the subject on which Kev. K.B.Waltz gave a long interesting talk. A commit tee was then appointed to elect officers tor the coming year and after singing, h'e\. Iv B. Waltz pronounced the benediction. Adjourned. Evening session:—The convention took up their work of the evening by song ser vice followed by the devotional servjee which was conducted by Kev. J. T. Brad lord. The subject "Advantages ol Teaching the Lesson by Parable and Object Les s ns," was ably discussed and illustrated by Kev. S. B. Bidlack. Rev. J. (itiilden then discussed the subject of "How should the Teacher Apply the Lesson to the Spiritual Life of his Scholars." Singing, Speed Away, after which Miss Josephine Colt sang a beautiful solo with which all were well pleased. The report of the committee was then given and accepted, and it was decided that the pcxt-convention which will be held in the Eagles Mere" Baptist church shall have three sessions instead of two. A quartette entitled "tiotid Night" was tuen sung by Misses Ella Met>annigarn,t Ethel Stackhouse. Jennie Keitmver and Minnie Keese. After the^Benediction by Kev J.
